Preschool

The majority of Michigan’s 4-year-olds qualify based on household income, including
many families who didn’t think they would. You are encouraged to apply and see if your
family is eligible. Children with a qualifying IEP, who are in foster care, or children who
are experiencing homelessness are also eligible. There are other factors outside of
income that may make children eligible.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Families can apply at anytime online at
shiawasseepreschool.org

Programs enroll children based on the eligibility criteria and when they receive
applications. Families that apply in the spring will hear by June 2nd. Those that apply in
the summer often hear within a few weeks.

New Lothrop Area Schools PreK For All does not offer before and aftercare at this time.

New Lothrop Area Schools does now offer transportation for PreK.  Rides are available with with regular morning and after school bus routes.

PreK For All is for children who will be 4 on or before September 1st. This program is a
free PreK preschool program serving 4 and 5 year olds. Children who turn 4 between
September 2nd and December 1st may also be eligible for this program. Children who
will be 3 on or before September 1st are able to be put on a waitlist to be added to a
three-four year old mixed classroom. They would pay tuition.

Children attend 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. Hours vary by program
(full day versus half day). The program follows a routine schedule, however, each
classroom may have slightly different schedules.
